As the 44th session of the World Heritage Committee, which was scheduled to be held in Fuzhou in July, was postponed, the delayed discussion on the organization of the side event took place at the WHITRAP 3 Centres Meeting (Third Quarter, 2020) on July 22. Meeting was chaired by Li Xin, Deputy Secretary-general of WHITRAP Secretariat. Zhou Jian, Secretary-general of WHITRAP Secretariat, Zhu Haijun, Director of WHITRAP (Suzhou), Zhang Jianwei, Executive Deputy Director of WHITRAP (Beijing), Lu Wei, Executive Deputy Director of WHITRAP (Shanghai), Li Guanghan, Assistant Director of WHITRAP(Beijing), Wang Qinran, Training Department of WHITRAP (Suzhou) and WangTianxiang, Secretary of WHITRAP Secretariat, attended the meeting.
The meeting mainly discussed the organization of the side event during the 44th session of the World Heritage Committee. At the beginning, Li Xin, Deputy Secretary-General of WHITRAP Secretariat introduced the application issue of the side event, and then Secretary-General Zhou along with the directors of the three centers put forward suggestions and precautions. Next, a preliminary division of labor and time planning for subsequent work was completed. Secretary-General Zhou pointed out that the side event should focus on the theme while dealing with difficulties, the internationality of the theme should be strengthened, and the three centers together with the secretariat should move forward on all fronts, maintain communication and complete the preparatory workin a timely manner.
In the meantime, arrangements for the finalization work of WHITRAP'smid-term strategy (2020-2025) was made.
The WHITRAP 3 Centres Meeting has now come to an end successfully.
