This forum is co-sponsored by the World Heritage Institute of Training and Research in the Asia and Pacific Region (Whitr-ap) and the College of Architecture and Urban Planning (CAUP) of Tongji University. It aims to be constructive, forward, and open-minded, and to "discover the value and seek for consensus." The Forum will be held on a monthly basis at the center. To provide a place for diverse dialogue open to all, the Forum encouraged topic-based discussion and interactive commentary. This is meant, to inspire participants to brainstorm solutions as well as to form an effective platform with academic and social impact on heritage protection in China. Dr. Li XIN, director of the Forum, has obtained support from numerous institutions and has built up a strong volunteer team.
