| On 14 November 2007, Prof. Wu Zhiqiang, Acting Director of WHITR-AP (Shanghai) and Dr. Zhang Yanhua, Director of the Research Unit, hold an interview with Mr. Lars Reutersward, Director of UN-Habitat. First Prof. Wu gave him a detailed description about the renovation of Wen Yuan Building, which sets a good example of historical building preservation with ecological energy-saving technology in China. Then, Prof Wu introduced the international status, main function and goals of WHITR-AP (Shanghai). Mr. Lars Reutersward expressed his great concerns about the institute’s future development and further cooperation wishes in the near future. He commented that the institute (Wen Yuan Building) is a great mix of contemporary design, Bauhaus style, and some antique furniture. |
