“The scientific exhibition for waterfront renovation of the Bund” is open to the public from May 17 to 31 , with the theme of “Bund Witnessing….”. As a microcosm of China in its historic stages, the Bund, together with lashing waves of turbulent river water, has long been a witness to the development and reformation of the city and its history. With the foundation of New China, the Bund was reborn --- it has grown out of a former commercial harbor where merchants were brought together by its busy waterway into an amazing waterfront landscape flocked by thousands of tourists. With a miserable yesterday, a vibrant today and a promising future, the Bund has help to cultivate the pulse of the city, recording the spirit of the times along the way. Taking the evolution of its spatial distribution patterns and the comprehensive renovation of the waterfront area as paramount, the exhibition aims to show unique qualities of a new Bund as a pleasant international waterfront sightseeing and recreation zone. By various exhibition instruments such as promotion boards, touch-screen multimedia demonstration and physical planning models, the entire exhibition approaches showcases from 12 different aspects, from the topic of “the origin of the bund” to “the big time classic” .
