| The Symposium on Commemorating the 30th Anniversary of China's First Inclusion on the UNESCO ‘World Heritage List’ |

On December 22, 2017, the symposium hosted by the State Administration of Cultural Heritage to commemorate the 30th Anniversary of China's First Inclusion on the UNESCO ‘World Heritage List’ was held in Jianfu Palace, Forbidden City. Approximately 30 people attended the symposium, including: LUO Shugang, Minister of Culture, LIU Yuzhu, Director of the State Administration of Cultural Heritage, DU Yue, Secretary-General of the China National Commission for UNESCO, relevant experts, and representatives from heritage sites and UNESCO's Category II institutes. Under the topic of conserving the world’s cultural heritage, LUO Shugang proposed clear requirements for improving the registration and protection of heritage locations, strengthening the exhibition and function of heritage locations, and establishing a working mechanism for international cooperation. In his speech, Dr. LI Xin, Secretary-General of WHITRAP, pointed out: Since the establishment of WHITRAP in 2008, the organisation has played an important role as a bridge in the international exchange of cultural heritage protection. In recent years, through encouraging cooperation between government enterprises and residents, WHITRAP has actively explored new, innovative methods of cultural heritage conservation.
