WHITRAP-Shanghai discusses with the French Paris Region Urban and Environmental Agency (Institut d'Amenagement et d'Urbanisme de la Région d'Ile de France) on operationalizing HUL. Since its foundation WHITRAP-Shanghai has been a key player in promoting UNESCO's Recomendation on the Historic Urban Landscape (HUL) in the Asia and Pacific Region and beyond. HUL's relevance today to face development challenges is to be proven no more. Following the work undertaken in the past years, WHITRAP-Shanghai will continue developing tools and guidelines for city decision makers and professionals to operationalize the HUL approach. The French Paris Region Urban and Environmental Agency has more than 60 years experience in urban and regional strategic planning, providing decision makers with high level research, tools, data and know-how to achieve sustainable planning on key issues such as climate change, urban resilience, heritage and landscape values, sustainable development, urban agriculture, collaborative economy, smart cities, innovative economy.
