World Heritage Travel Expo and the Forth World Heritage Forum in Macau |

The first World Heritage Travel Expo and the forth World Heritage Forum were held in Macau from December 26 to 28. The Expo, featuring the theme “Conservation, Development, Promotion & Communication”, showcases cultural and natural heritage from around the world. Many World Heritage sites participated in the exhibition, such as Jiuzhaigou Valley Scenic and Historic Interest Area, Huanglong Scenic and Historic Interest Area, Yinxu, Libo and the Stone forest (South China Karst), Kaiping Diaolou and Villages and Xiaoling Tomb, etc. At the following World Heritage forum, both national and international experts delivered speeches on the topics including: a. World Heritage and City Competition; b. World Heritage and Sustainable Tourism; c. Heritage Tourism and Investing; d. World Heritage Conservation and Dissemination; e. The Historic Roles for Non-government Organizations in World Heritage Conservation and Dissemination; f. The Existing and Development of Intangible Heritage. Dr. Yanhua Zhang, Director of the Research Unit from the Whitrap (Shanghai) presented the forum and delivered the speech on the topic “The Growth of Chinese Heritage NGOs”. |
