| UNESCO Chair Program on Cultural Heritage and Risk Management: the fourth International Training Course on Disaster Risk Management of Cultural Heritage will be held in Kyoto, Japan and Kathmandu, Nepal, from 31 August to 12 September, 2009. It is co-organized by the Research Center for Disaster Mitigation of Urban Heritage and Ritsmeikan University, Kyoto. In response to the Kathmandu Recommendations, adopted in the International Symposium on "Protecting World Cultural Heritage Sites and their Historic Urban Environment from Earthquakes" held in February 2009, this year's training course will focus on disaster risk management plan of cultural heritage in earthquake-prone historic urban areas.
