During September 17 – 20, the Shaping Canberra conference held by Australian National University (ANU) in Canberra to discuss the uniqueness city fabrics of Canberra and the future development of the city, difference levels of communities are encourage to be part of the program which aims to create a lively community across disciplines and practices discussion.

Dr. Ron van Oers, Expert of global urban conservation from World Heritage Center, who is now working in WHITRAP participated to the conference and gave an open lecture at 17th Sept morning, on the topic: Canberra as a historic urban landscape (HUL). And he suggested that Canberra should consider processing the nomination as World Heritage, where Canberra, was nominated as national heritage in 2009.

HUL in terms of World Heritage, known as under the category of Cultural landscape initiated in 2011.
