| Nordic-Baltic World Heritage Sustainable Tourism Hands-on Meeting in Roskilde, Denmark |

The World Heritage and Sustainable Tourism: Towards a Nordic-Baltic pilot region program is led by the Nordic World Heritage Foundation in cooperation with the World Heritage Centre, aiming to incorporate sustainable tourism in the management of World Heritage sites of the region. The meeting held in Roskilde, Denmark from 17-19 Sep 2014 was built upon the analytical framework and “How To” guide on sustainable tourism and focused on practical experience sharing. The meeting was well attended by over 100 participants in the Nordic-Baltic region and officially opened by the director of the Danish Agency for Culture. The participants demonstrated a great interest in the implementation of sustainable tourism and had fruitful discussion on how to put it into actions. Dr. Ping Kong represents WHITRAP as a member of the advisory group presented in the meeting, participated the plenary case studies and contributed to group discussions. |
