![]() The hosts of the forum speak to the participants From June 12th to 13th, 2008 the "Hangzhou Forum on the Conservation of World Heritage" was held in Hangzhou. The forum was organized by the State Administration of Cultural Heritage and the Hangzhou Municipal Government with the support of WHITR-AP. Participating in the forum were representatives from ICOMOS, notable figures in the field of World Heritage conservation, and administrators from World Heritage sites. The topic of discussion was "World Heritage and Quality Life" through the perspective of the value of world heritage and its contemporary significance. Furthermore they shared theories and practices regarding how to protect and to use cultural heritages. WHITR-AP representatives Prof. Han Feng and Dr. Li Xin delivered keynote presentations on the International Tendencies of World Heritage Cultural Landscapes and an Economic Analysis on the Relationship between the Government and the Inhabitants in the Process of Heritage Conservation, respectively. |
