32nd World Heritage Committee
The 32nd Session of World Heritage Committee Meeting officially launched on 2nd July 2008 in Quebec City, Canada; at the occasion of 400 anniversary of Quebec City. China was selected as a member of World Heritage Committee in charge of implementing UNESCO's Convention Concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage, in the General Assembly of the 184 States Parties to the Convention in Oct 2007. The Committee will examine 45 nominations for inscription on the World Heritage List during this session, comprising 35 new nominations, 5 proposed extensions, 5 nominations deferred or referred by previous sessions of the Committee and 21 minor modifications. China has two new nominations in this session, including Mount Sanqingshan National Park, Natural property, Fujian Tulou, Cultural property. These nominations will be discussed today and tomorrow.
