In the afternoon on September 15, the Awarding Ceremon of Guest Professor of Tongji University was held in WHITRAP Shanghai. Mr. LIN Zhihong, UNESCO WHC Specialist and Prof. Antoine GOURNAY, from Paris-Sorbonne University, were awarded Certificates of Guest Professor by Prof. WU Jiang, Deputy President of Tongji University. Later, two professors made lectures respectively. Prof. LIN Zhihong presented a lecture on 10 Years after Destruction of Afghanistan Bamiyan Buddhas : Preservation and Sustainable Development of Cultural Landscape of Bamiyan Valley. As a project manager of the Conservation Project of Afghanistan Bamiyan Buddhas, Prof. LIN illustrated the efforts that UNESCO had been made to protect the site since March 9, 2001, including the fact that the site was made an exception to be inscribed on the World Heritage List and the World Heritage in Danger in 2003 . Although the Buddhas was damaged, UNESCO was not in favor of re-building it. It shoud be protected in a extensive way in the field of Cultural Landscape and conducted comprehensive researches.
